I'm someone who "gets" the relationship between technology and what might be called “creative communication,” particularly in the broadcasting and social media space. I have spent much of my career in the broadcast industry using creative communications tools, designing them, evangelizing them, selling them, strategizing them, writing about them, organizing conferences about them , and consulting with and for makers, users and investors in all parts of the world.
At heart I'm a communicator myself...degree in journalism, broadcaster, writer, endless experience producing and chairing conferences. My career encompasses news, operations and technology in the broadcasting industry; senior leadership positions in sales, marketing and product management in the media industry’s technology supply side; and a variety of advocacy roles in other fields including healthcare, education and the Arts.
I have run my own Consultancy business since 2002, delivering a range of benefits to my clients’ businesses in research, selling, marketing, communications, kicking doors down or just applying the wisdom born of experience.
My clients include broadcasters, manufacturers, integrators, investors and industry bodies; I have delivered specific tasks and projects in such areas as product and brand strategy, due diligence, project governance, quantitative and qualitative market research, content authoring, advocacy, and customer engagement, among many other things.
I'm a partner in Kane, a Paris-based benchmarking consultancy. I can provide French translation services along with everything else.
My network covers the globe, and takes in all parts of the media industry and many other areas besides.
My personal business motto is “Focus – Target – Measure” and that is precisely what I help my clients do. Focus on what needs to be done; set ambitious but realistic targets; and measure progress unril they are achieved.
